One of Cheshire’s oldest family estates has funded the installation of a new communal defibrillator in Farndon.
The Barnston Estate has paid for the lifesaving device to be placed outside the Aptitude Health & Fitness Gym on the foundation of the village’s Monument Place Business Park.
Former athlete Gareth Preston, who opened the popular new gym for classes and open workouts last November, said, “We are incredibly grateful to Ed and the Barnston Estate for funding this state-of-the-art community defibrillator.
“As someone with underlying heart disease, I am a huge supporter of the British Heart Foundation and all of their work to make defibrillators like this available in all common areas across the UK.
“While we hope this is the best investment we never have to use, we and the community can be assured that we have access to such a fantastic life-saving device in our venue.”
Real Estate Manager Ed Barnston added, “We were delighted to have worked with Gareth to support this very important local initiative.”
The Barnston Estate is one of the oldest family estates in Cheshire and was recently named runner-up in this year’s prestigious Rural Business Awards.
The private estate consists of 1,800 acres in and around the villages of Farndon, Churton and Hapsford in rural Cheshire.
