Police are looking for a serial sex assailant after 10 women were attacked by a cyclist on footpaths in Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
Due to the similarity of the attacks between March 2nd and 7th, detectives from two police officers are working together on the case.
In each incident, a man on a mountain bike would approach the victim from behind before inappropriately touching it as he drove past.
Three took place on the Bridgewater Canal in Sale on March 2 at 6 p.m., on March 3 at 6:20 p.m. and on March 6 at 9:20 a.m.
Three attacks followed on March 6, including at 4:50 p.m. on Bridgewater Way in Old Trafford, 6:20 p.m. on Little Ees Lane in Sale and 6:45 p.m. on a towpath near the River Mersey.
The seventh attack took place on March 7th at 10:42 am on the Bridgewater Canal in Timperley.
Sergeant Helen Bagnall of Trafford GMP District said, “Because of the similarity and pattern of this crime, we believe the same person is responsible.
“If you have seen anyone match the description, seen someone act suspicious in any of the areas concerned, or have information that may aid our investigation, please contact us.
“Fortunately, no one was injured in these incidents, but the women affected are understandably desperate.”

The police are holding a woman

Cheshire Police are investigating three attacks on the Trans Pennine Trail in Lymm between March 6 and 7.
A spokesman said: “On the three occasions reported to us, the suspect hit the victims from behind on a mountain bike before inappropriately touching them as they passed.
“We take these incidents seriously as they distress those who have been attacked by this man, and we understand the concern this raises in the community.
“We’ve been patrolling the area since Monday and working with the Greater Manchester Police Department who have received reports of similar incidents.”
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault related to the Manchester incidents.
