July Winner and Overall Winner: Goosander and Chick at Reddish Vale by Sean Rooney
Would you like your photography to appear on a calendar?
The Cheshire Wildlife Trust is encouraging aspiring photographers to enter their competition and participate in its charity calendar for 2022.
“We’re looking for photos that celebrate the diversity of wildlife and landscapes in our region. Whether these are general views of the Wirral Coast, our parks, forests, meadows or cities or its fascinating bird, mammal, insect and wildflower inhabitants, I can’t wait to see all of the entries, “said Jo Darlington, Director of Fundraising and Communication.
The trust is looking for images for its 2022 charity calendar, which will go on sale later this year. The twelve best entries will each be displayed as a full A4 page in the calendar, and the winning photographers will receive a free copy. Twelve runners-up also see their photos in the calendar, and the overall winner receives the coveted cover opportunity.
January Winner: Bridgewater Canal at Lymm by Chris Beesley
People are encouraged to look through any previously taken photos and look for opportunities to take new pictures in their garden and around.
“This year we’re also looking for that iconic Cheshire view, be it The Edge in Alderley Edge, Bickerton Hill, Kerridge Hill, Peckforton, Frodsham, The Cloud or White Nancy. Unleash your inner photographer! “Continued Jo.
“We are very pleased to have leading wildlife photographer Ben Hall on the jury, who will also help us with the final selection.”
Ben Hall’s work has been featured in leading wildlife and photo magazines such as the BBC Wildlife Magazine. He has won numerous awards for his photography and his reputation has led him to take photos all over the world.
