A Cheshire mother praised the “hero” who stopped her from suicide.
The mother of three shared her story, which was posted anonymously this week on the Facebook page of Chester’s largest community notice board.
The mother lost her job before Christmas and then separated from her 12-year-old husband in January 2021.
Over time, she said her thoughts got “so strong” that she wanted to kill herself.
The woman’s children were at her mother’s house one February evening when she decided to end her life.
In a twist of fate, however, she had forgotten that she had arranged for someone to deliver school meals for her children that evening.
When she opened the door, she said she was “a complete mess” and that she had “tears in her eyes”.
The man who delivered the meal crouched down and listened to the woman while making sure she was okay.
Fortunately, the man persuaded the woman not to react to her thoughts and gave her information on where to get “appropriate assistance”.
The mother of three has now said the man will “forever be my hero” and thanked the person for going the “extra mile”.
She also wanted to let him know that she was fine and that she was getting the right support.
The post reads, “I want to thank someone who went the extra mile for me in February 2021. In fact, the man saved my life … he made everything right. I had never met him before and for myself did he ‘I’ll be my hero forever.
“I just wanted to let him know that I’m fine and that I’m getting the right support.
“Many Thanks.”
