A professional chef will cycle 1,900 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 18 days to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust (MS Trust).
Mark Parsons will take up his challenge in July and hope to join the leagues of the eight other people who completed the feat.
The Assistant Principle at Cheshire College began his career as a professional chef, working with well-known names such as Gary Rhodes.
His current role and responsibilities include directing and managing the curriculum at the college with campuses in Crewe, Chester and Ellesmere Port in Cheshire.
Several connections that Mark has built over the years are now sponsoring the challenge by donating food and drink, clothing, equipment, and more.
Mark said, “This will test me both mentally and physically at every point of my ride, but I really think it will be all worth it.
“I decided to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust because different people in my life have struggled with this terrible disease and almost everyone knows someone who lives with MS.
“I started my training in September and gradually increased the length and gradient of each ride.
“I am fortunate to have such supportive family and friends around me. My son Jack has trained with me and hopes to take part of the challenge too. He is only 12 years old, but his perseverance and ambition keep me motivated. ”
Mark hopes to raise £ 6,000 to be donated to the MS Trust and has already reached more than half of his goal with a current grand total of £ 3,754.
