FUGITIVE celebrities were spotted in the car park of a supermarket in Warrington during their attempts to evade capture as part of Channel 4’s Hunted.
The new series of Celebrity Hunted saw eight famous faces – Iwan Thomas, Richard Whitehead, Lisa Maffia, Chizzy Akudolu, Ollie and Gareth Locke, Chloe Veitch and the Vivienne – go on the run from law enforcement experts in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.
They were tasked with remaining at large for two weeks before meeting at an extraction point in Formby.
And three of the fugitives came to Warrington as part of their efforts.
Before then, actress Veitch and drag queen the Vivienne hitchhiked to Kerry Katona’s home in Alderley Edge.
The Padgate popstar, who is a ‘second mum’ to the former, refused to hand over her phone for inspection when interrogated by the hunters and told them: “I do OnlyFans, you don’t want to see those pictures – you’ve got to subscribe for that.”
She later added: “It’s been a while since I’ve been raided.”
Former Olympian Thomas then dropped in at Expedition bar in Stockton Heath, which is owned by his friend Eric Howe, and hid out at Howley-based shopfitters Nationwide Retail Solutions before seeking refuge with a Warrington couple.
But the hunters’ bid to trace him led to a dramatic foot chase around the car park of Sainsbury’s on Church Street with Veitch and the Vivienne, who by chance had stopped for supplies in the supermarket.
These scenes were aired in the penultimate and final episodes of the series.
Celebrity Hunted airs on Sundays at 9pm, while the series is available to stream in full now on All4.
