Free support for business starters in Cheshire

A POPULAR business school is offering free support at an event starting tomorrow (Monday, January 17).

Rebel Business School comes to Cheshire to help potential start-ups launch their businesses.

Cheshire’s would-be entrepreneurs are offered free support by the organization, which aims to prove that anyone can succeed in business.

The free online course, which has previously attracted more than 100 people, will be offered January 17-28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. via Zoom.

It will cover all aspects related to running a business; from sales, marketing, website launch to tax and legal considerations.

It is led by successful Northwestern entrepreneur Katie Coombes, who aims to help participants understand that anyone can start a business, no matter what stage of life they are in or what circumstances they find themselves in.

She said: “There are so many ways to start a business. Whether you are a maker, craftsman, artist, trainer or work in the craft, beauty, food or fashion industries, this course is for you.

“We’re here to help people develop their ideas and give them a boost when they feel stuck. You don’t have to be the next Facebook — no business is too small to join.”

She started her business selling handbags at a Christmas market and a temporary tattoo kiosk.

She then made arrangements with Manchester City that she could run a make-up shop on the premises on match days.

“I wasn’t even good at makeup. I had to get other people to do it. But we returned every Saturday for months and then switched to other events.”

The Cheshire event is free to attendees and is funded by sponsors and Cheshire West and Chester Council and Chester West Let’s Talk Business.

You can book a free place through the Rebel Business School website: https://therebelschool.com
