Garbage collection suspended across Cheshire East due to staff shortage

GARDEN litter bins will not be picked up anywhere in Cheshire East until next Monday at the earliest due to a lack of staff.

And the collections of the black and gray bin, which were missed in some areas last week, should be picked up by Wednesday (January 5th), if the staff allows it.

Ansa, the community wholly owned company responsible for garbage collection, has apologized on social media for failing to collect it in the week between Christmas and New Year and informed residents about the further postponement of garden waste collection, which also includes leftover food. until January 10th.

The company tweeted, “Our teams are working extremely hard to keep our waste collection services up and running.

“We are under increasing pressure on our ability to complete some collection rounds and pick up bins that have been missed due to access problems or not picked up as planned.

“The recent surge in Covid-related illnesses and employee self-isolation, along with the ongoing impact of the nationwide shortage of truck drivers and an increase in the amount of household waste, has severely affected our teams after the Christmas season.

“Until the situation eases, the disruption may continue and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused residents.”
