Little Heath Farm’s sunflower fields are open to Cheshire residents

Take a look at the sunflower meadow that Cheshire residents can visit.

For the next three weekends, Little Heath Farm in Dunham will be hosting their flower show again so the little ones can learn about them and have fun walking around around thousands of sunflowers.

“It’s more of a full day than last year, it’s not just a walk,” said Tom Jones, farm manager.

“The main reason we do it is to make people smile. Already this morning everyone said how uplifting it is, and it’s nice to see that we can achieve that through a harvest that is effectively benefiting nature. People who come and support our way of farming and nature itself. ”

The meadow was so successful last year that it makes a lot of sense to continue it with a few changes.

Tom continued, “We have tried to create a biodiverse harvest for nature to improve the bees and butterflies that pollinate the rest of the farm.

“The way last year went with the lockdown and the busy village just blew up and the meadows were a place to go out. I think the sunflower field captured one of the 10 best pictures of the year on an American news channel.

“It was busier than everyone expected. It brought so much warmth and happiness to people through the lockdown.

“We did it again just to make it more accessible to people and hopefully brighten up their summer again.”

The meadow has moved its location so that it is accessible via the courtyard with parking lot, toilets and all own food that is prepared on the grill.

It is open Friday through Sunday through the first weekend in September, including bank holiday Monday

It’s £ 5 per car, £ 2 per person if you walk or bike, and it’s free for under 5s.
