An accident on the M6 in Cheshire closed the motorway to all traffic.
The accident happened today (December 17th) shortly before 1.30 p.m. at junction 18 of the M6 (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel).
All traffic is temporarily interrupted as the emergency services deal with the incident.
Traffic has been idle since 1:30 p.m., causing traffic jams in the area.

The emergency service was contacted for further information.
The latest update from the Inrix traffic control center read: “All traffic will be temporarily stopped and at rest due to an accident on the M6 northbound to J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel).
“Traffic was stopped at around 1:30 p.m.”
