FOODBANKS continue to feed more people than ever due to the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Mid Cheshire Foodbank is running low on a few everyday items right now this week and has asked people to donate: shampoo, canned / mashed potatoes, toothpaste and UHT milk.
Every week a new list is published with articles that might be a bit scarce and of course all products, no matter how big or small, are always gratefully received.
You are also asked to return the items to your local supermarket when shopping for yourself.
Supermarkets participating in the program include Sainsburys in Hartford, Asda, Tesco and Waitrose in Northwich, and Asda and Morrisons in Winsford.
There is food for everyone who needs it, nobody has to go hungry. Here’s who to contact if you need help or know someone who will:
Cheshire West & Chester Council Help Team – 0300 123 7065.
Citizens Advice in the Community – Send a text message or call 07894 238 963.
When you receive a grocery bank referral, you will be given a collection point to attend with a booking time. Food will be ready for you and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Fresh food is consumed whenever possible and food that is not picked up in time is redistributed.
If you’d like to donate money so the Mid Cheshire Foodbank can buy more supplies, the easiest way to donate is at https://www.justgiving.com/midcheshirefoodbank/.
