The Mid Cheshire Hospitals charity has launched an appeal for emergency child care to provide a new unit for children in need of emergency medical care.
Charities seek to create “a calming, child-friendly environment where we children of all ages can relax and distract so that their experience is as good as possible”.
The latest call aims to finance two interactive floor projectors for waiting areas and a sensory play wall with fixed activity units in the waiting areas and assessment rooms.
They also want to purchase high-tech clinical equipment that the medical and nursing team will use to improve the care given to very poor babies up to three months of age who attend the unit.
Carole Salmon, Community Fundraiser for Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, said, “It is not an essential part of the kit, but it will make some emergency procedures easier and quicker to complete.
“We hope to meet our £ 40,000 target before the end of 2021. That’s why we need your help now!
“We look forward to any donation, no matter how large or small. Thanks for your support.
“We are collecting donations to improve the environment and to buy high-tech equipment for the pediatric department at the emergency center at Leighton Hospital.
“There is a slim chance that we will raise more than we need for this project.
“If this happens, or if for unforeseen reasons we are unable to purchase everything we have set out on the appeal, your gift will continue to be used for children (beyond the NHS basic care) attending the unit . “
