Man ransacked grandmother’s house and attacked his father during ‘psychotic episode’
A NORTHWICH man who vandalized his grandmother’s home and rampaged during a psychotic episode was spared an immediate prison sentence.
David Wade, of Britannia Road, Cuddington, has been told by a judge that he is only partially responsible for his “disgraceful conduct” in the early evening of November 1 last year.
The 31-year-old father of two had stopped taking medication and drinking before a dispute broke out over a bottle of vodka at his grandmother’s home on Beech Road in Runcorn.

A man took £40,000 from the company to spend on drugs and prostitution
A NORTHWICH man has been jailed after he sold £40,000 worth of paint stolen from his employer – and got mixed up with drinks, drugs and prostitutes.
Violet Grove’s George Smith admitted to stealing shares in Manchester’s Bromborough Paints before reselling them for cash.
The 33-year-old covered up his deception by correcting computer stock records, but his 16-month thief spree was eventually spotted by a finance director conducting an audit.

PureGym Northwich stabbed: Attempted murder trial update
THE stabbing victim who was attacked outside PureGym in Northwich has been told he can produce pre-recorded evidence at the trial of the man accused of attempted murder.
The 20-year-old suffered horrific injuries when he was allegedly attacked outside Samson Price’s Leicester Street gym on September 23 last year.
Price, a 47-year-old from Sefton Road in Wigan, was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed object in a public place.

Teenage thug found guilty of murdering Keagan crimes
A TEEN thug has been found guilty of murdering a Winsford man with a Rambo-style knife in a brutal incident that shocked the town.
The 17-year-old, from Crewe, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had admitted stabbing Keagan Crimes through the chest on October 11, 2020 but denied it was murder.
However, after more than 11 hours of deliberations, the jury did not believe his claims of self-defense as they returned a unanimous guilty verdict. The teenager, who shook his head in the dock as the verdict was read, was also found guilty of stabbing Jason McQuoid with intent to cause serious bodily harm.

Man jailed after funding a lavish lifestyle by running a massive drug dealership
A MAN who funded his lavish lifestyle by running a huge drug dealing operation in Winsford has been jailed for more than six years.
Shane Preece, 43, has “brought misery” to residents thanks to his illegal business and was sentenced to six years and nine months by Chester Crown Court yesterday, Thursday January 20.
Meanwhile, his wife, Carla Preece, 32, pleaded guilty to money laundering and received a 20-day rehabilitation order.
Jamie Green, 28, has been sentenced to an 18-month suspended sentence for possession with intent to deliver Class B and possession of criminal property.

Drunk driver banned for exceeding the legal limit two and a half times
A DRIVER who exceeded two and a half times the legal alcohol limit was blocked from the road.
Richard Illingworth-Harrison, 34, of Sandileigh Avenue, Knutsford, pleaded guilty in Stockport Magistrates Court to having 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath.
The defendant admitted to crossing the line on November 14 last year when the case was heard on January 10.

The driver has been fined £500 for almost doubling the speed limit through road works on the M6
A PORSCHE driver has been fined £500 for speeding through road works on the M6 at almost twice the maximum speed.
Mark Cripps, 46, of Moss Lane, Alderley Edge, pleaded guilty in Birmingham Magistrates Court to exceeding the speed limit on August 7 last year.
The defendant was caught on camera driving a Porsche at 120 km/h in a zone where a temporary speed limit of 40 km/h was in effect, the court heard on January 13.

Train ticket swindler hit with £400 court bill for £14 fare
A WOMAN who failed to pay her fare has been hit with a £400 court bill.
Julie Finney, 47, of Oakfield Close, Alderley Edge, failed to show a train ticket at Huddersfield train station when asked by an inspector on August 26 last year, Manchester Magistrates Court has heard.
The defendant boarded a TransPennine Express at Stalybridge station without a valid ticket, the bank was told when the case was heard on January 7.
