The number of Covid patients in the Cheshire hospital continues to rise

THE number of Covid patients being treated in Cheshire hospitals continues to rise.

The latest number of Covid patients enrolled in the county’s top four hospital trusts is 77 at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, according to NHS England.

That is 14 more than in the previous week 63.

Broken down by hospital trust, there are:

Warrington and Halton: 26 Covid patients (seven from last week), including five on ventilation beds (one less than last week)

Mid Cheshire: 25 Covid patients (eight at eight from last week), including five on beds with mechanical ventilators (three fewer than last week)

East Cheshire: 14 Covid patients (four more than last week) including three on mechanical ventilation beds (two more than last week)

Countess of Chester: 12 Covid patients (five fewer than last week), including two on ventilated beds (two fewer than last week).

Unfortunately, four more Covid patient deaths have been recorded so far this week.

Three Covid patients died at the Mid Cheshire Hospital Trust – two on July 26, the other on July 27 – and one died on July 27 at the Warrington and Halton Hospitals Trust.

The number of new Covid cases has decreased significantly in the entire district over the past week. Although part of the decrease is due to fewer tests in school-age children due to the summer vacation, the infection rate has decreased in almost all age demographics.

At least 80 percent of the adult population of each Cheshire district have now received a first dose of a Covid vaccine, with nearly 70 percent of adults now fully vaccinated.
