The post-Christmas season is a busy time for business across the country as people get bargains on Boxing Day and the January sale.
Many shopping centers and supermarkets will have reduced opening times at the turn of the year even after Christmas.
But most of the retail trade will be open from Boxing Day as shoppers flock to sales, even if it happens at reduced hours.

We have compiled the opening times of all major shopping centers and supermarkets below, some of which have not yet been confirmed.
Trafford Center

The Trafford Center will be open on Boxing Day from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and will remain open until the January sales thereafter.
Here is the full list of post-Christmas opening times.
- December 27-28: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (next is open 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.)
- December 29-30: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- New Year’s Eve: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- New Year: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- January 2nd: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Cheshire Oaks

Shops at Oaks will close on Boxing Day before reopening on Boxing Day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., while larger stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Here you can find the full opening times of the Designer Outlet until the New Year.
- Sunday, December 26th: 9 am-6pm (larger shops 10 am-5pm)
- Monday, December 27th: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 28th: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Wednesday, December 29th: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Thursday, December 30th: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- New Year’s Eve: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- New Year: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Grosvenor Shopping Center – Chester
The shopping center in Chester will also reopen on Boxing Day, but will be closed on New Years Day.
Below are the times you can visit the shopping complex through January 2nd.
- Christmas Day – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, December 27th – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 28th – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th, Friday 31st December – normal opening times
- New Year – closed
- Sunday, January 2nd – 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Asda

Asda has not yet officially announced its Christmas opening hours, although it looks like most stores will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight through Christmas Eve.
Last year they were closed on Boxing Day and Boxing Day, so it is likely that they will do the same this year.
Tesco

The supermarket chain announced that its 370 large stores will be open 24 hours a day between Monday, December 20 and December 24.
More plans have yet to be announced, but they are expected to close on Boxing Day, Boxing Day, and New Years Day.
Aldi

Aldi will be closed on Christmas Day as well as on Christmas Day.
But from Monday, December 27th to Thursday, December 30th, the supermarkets will be open at reduced times from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On New Year’s Eve, the shops are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. before they close on New Year’s Day. Most stores are open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but some can stay open until 8:00 p.m.
Morrisons
Morrisons is one of the most popular supermarket chains in Cheshire

Morrisons also closes on Boxing Day and Boxing Day.
But from December 27th to 30th the shops open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on New Year’s Eve from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It will be one of the few supermarkets that will be open on New Years Day – from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sainsbury’s

All shops will close on Boxing Day and Boxing Day before larger shops open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in preparation for the New Year, with most open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
Lidl
All shops will be closed on Boxing Day and Boxing Day, with shops also changing their opening hours on New Year’s Eve, with most shops open until 6 p.m. before closing on New Year’s Day.
