Cheshire hospice charity looking to appoint new chairperson

A CHESTER charity is seeking a new chairperson for its board of trustees after its current chair announced he would retire from the role at the end of the year.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, which provides palliative care for residents of Cheshire West and Deeside, say they have begun the recruitment process in order to ensure that a replacement is found ahead of current Chair, Robert Mee DL, stepping down.

Robert from Mollington, who last year was also appointed to the role of High Sheriff of Cheshire said: “I’ve had a wonderful five years in post as Chair of the Board. The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a brilliant organization with a very passionate team who are committed to being the best they can be in everything they do.

“Though stepping down, I hope to remain a member of the Board as the Hospice is very close to my heart as I know it is to many of the residents of West Cheshire and Deeside.”

Rhian Edwards, the CEO of the Hospice said: “Robert has been a wonderful ambassador and leader of the Board and he has been a great support to me over the last 18 months since I’ve been in post.

“We both believe that this is an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead our excellent team of volunteer Trustees to support both the staff and me to take the hospice through to the next stage of it’s development.

“We are very pleased that Sherrington and Associates are supporting us with the appointment of our new Chair.”

Applications are invited from candidates with suitable experience who can bring their own ideas, energy, and passion to the Hospice.
