Cheshire’s Skout PR makes trio of appointments Prolific North

Cheshire-based B2B PR and marketing agency Skout has appointed Lee Simpson as head of technology practice, and James Weaver and Isobelle Yoxall as junior account executives.

The appointments come as Skout looks to bolster his team through an anticipated period of high growth.

Formerly of Fourth Day PR, Simpson joins Skout in the newly established role head of technology practice, bringing over 13 years of experience to the position. His previous background includes content strategy and execution for SaaS business’ ResponseTap and MPD Group (now Sorted).

Simpson said: “I’m delighted to be joining at a time when the agency is experiencing rapid growth and I’m excited to be working with some incredibly forward-thinking businesses. Over the coming months, I hope to use my expertise to establish Skout’s new practice as the go-to marcoms support for ambitious and innovative B2B tech companies.”

Weaver, a journalism graduate from Staffordshire University, brings over a decade of journalism and content creation experience to Skout, while Yoxall is a multimedia graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University, who says she is eager to start her PR career: “The constantly evolving world of marketing and PR has always appealed to me and I’m excited to be able to grow and develop my skills with the help of the Skout team,” she said.

Managing director Rob Skinner added: “With the strong growth the business is experiencing it was the right time to create the role of head of technology. We now have a dedicated service which enhances our offering to our roster of tech-focused clients and will continue to attract world leading innovators in the B2B space. I’m confident that Lee can support our development within this area.”

Now in its thirteenth year, Skout boasts a portfolio of long-standing clients including Miele and Teneo, as well as new wins, specializing in industries including legal, HR, marketing, construction, and financial services.
