Tatton Park RHS Flower Show continues despite tightened Covid measures in Cheshire

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced that their summer flower show will continue to take place at Tatton Park in Cheshire despite the delay in ending coronavirus restrictions.

The shows, which run at Tatton Park July 21-25, will be held with additional security measures, the RHS said after the government announced the restrictions would remain in place through July 19.

The news comes as Cheshire begins receiving additional Covid support, including surge testing, tracking, isolation support and maximizing vaccine uptake amid a surge in Delta variant cases.

In accordance with the latest Public Health England guidelines and after pilot test events, all attendees are required to take a lateral flow test prior to traveling to the shows and to provide current evidence of a negative result prior to admission to the events.

The RHS said visitors must show evidence of a negative test, which must be done the day before or the morning before traveling to the fair, even if they have been vaccinated.

Anyone who tests positive should not travel and must follow government instructions.

They will be offered an exchange for the 2022 show, credit, or a full refund, the horticultural charity said.

Visitors must also abide by the current Covid rules, and the RHS said there would be a number of additional measures to ensure everyone feels safe at the summer shows.

These measures include additional parking and park-and-ride options for motorists, socially distant queues, improved cleaning and waste disposal, hand disinfectants distributed throughout the exhibition center, contactless transactions and regular exhibitor tests.

The Chelsea Flower Show will take place in September for the first time in its history after postponing due to this spring’s lockdown.
